Greece is located in southern Europe and is bordered by Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, and the Mediterranean Sea. While it is often associated with blue seascapes and white-washed villages, Greece exhibits stunning diversity with architecture from classical to modern periods and islands throughout the three seas. The Acropolis, Homer, mythology, and ouzo (grape brandy) are just a few of the country's trademarks. Common Greek foods are saganaki (fried cheese), roast lamb, soutzoukakia (meatballs), gemistes (stuffed peppers).
