As a supplement to its Writing and Rhetoric curriculum, the College of Arts and Humanities has designed a study abroad program for undergraduate students interested in writing at UCF.
This program will hone the research, analytical and writing skills by crafting reviews of great eating experiences in London and Paris.
Nationally recognized restaurant critic Scott Joseph will teach the art of reviewing. Student reviews will be published on a specifically created website. This writing class is for students who love to eat, travel and write.
Students participating on this two week program will spend one week in London, United Kingdom and one week in Paris, France.
Students on this program should plan to arrive in London, England by noon on the starting day of the program in order to be in country to transfer to the hotel. Please note, check flight schedules carefully before booking. To arrive by noon on the starting day of this program, fights must depart the USA the day before the start of the program. There are two large airports in London (Gatwick/Heathrow). Students will be advised into which airport they should arrive in order to transfer as a group to the accommodations visa Gatwick/Heathrow Express. Students are encouraged not to purchase their flights until after the application deadline and the applicants have been informed that the program has met its minimum numbers.

- Minimum GPA: 2.50 cumulative

- Composition 1102 or its equivalent
- Applicants must submit a writing sample to the program instructor for review upon submitting an application for this program

- Shared hotel accommodations in London, United Kingdom & Paris, France including breakfast
- 7 day London Travel Card
- 2nd class Eurostar train transportation between London and Paris
- 5 day Paris Visite Card
- Chartered excursion Champagne region of Paris including a visit to the Moët & Chandon winery, guided tour and champagne tasting
- Day admission tickets to The Louvre museum in Paris
- Airport transfer upon arrival on either the Heathrow/Gatwick Express
- Medical insurance including repatriation.
