The UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) exchange program with Malardalen University in Sweden provides an opportunity for UCF Engineering students to experience and be able to compare engineering education and professional practice in Sweden versus the USA. Malardalen University was founded in 1977 and is composed of two campuses: one in Vasteras and the other in Eskilstunam. Education is structured in 4 interdisciplinary schools, one of which is the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering. The school combines the disciplinary areas of Theatre, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Information Design as well as Product- and Process Development, Network Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics. It focus is raising students skills for developing new products and services that will benefit local industries and society. Research within the school also has an interdisciplinary structure and focuses on areas such as embedded software systems, applied research on mobile and wireless sensors with applications on healthcare and industrial systems and product development. To apply to this program, complete the online application. The application includes the submittal of a brief essay (500 words) that clearly describes your academic and personal goals, as well as how this program furthers them. We recommend you work on your essay outside the application environment and then paste it on the appropriate field. In addition, the application process requires an academic reference from an instructor familiar with you and who can explain why you are a good candidate for this program.
All applications will be reviewed by the College and selected applicants will be notified of how to follow up. Assessment of the applications will be based on the academic qualifications of the applicant, as well as fit between the available course options and the courses that the applicant has taken.
