Exchange Programs

Exchange Programs

Semester exchange programs offer a great opportunity for students to study abroad at another university while maintaining official registration at UCF. Studying abroad helps students build skills for today's job market allowing them to strengthen their personal identity, find new interests and passions and meet many people from around the world.

From choosing the right program to guidance through the application process, the UCF Abroad office has a dedicated team to help students every step of the way. Students can earn major, minor or elective credits while gaining a global perspective on their field of study and still graduate on time. Depending on the program, courses may be offered in the official language of the host country. Thus, it is essential that students are able to demonstrate a level of language proficiency that will make them competitive in the classroom. Details explaining the medium of instruction are available on the specific program webpage.

Exchange participants are expected to adapt to unfamiliar environments and to embrace cultural diversity. Participation in these programs require students to demonstrate personal commitment, maturity, and organizational skills. Students must learn to manage the requirements of a new academic system while adjusting to a new cultural environment.

Testimonial - Jake
"The friends that I made and the experiences I had made the 5 months abroad the best time one could ask for. I have seen places that I never even dreamed of.”

Testimonial - Kevin
“People ask me all the time how my experience was and every time I answer I feel like words don’t do it enough justice. So, the only advice I can give is go and do it yourself and find out just how amazing it truly is to study abroad.”

Kevin, Fall 2015, Austria
