Program Description:
As a supplement to its global communications curriculum, the Nicholson School of Communication has designed a study abroad program for students interested in global communication at UCF.

This summer program, hosted by Salzburg College, offers an introduction to various aspects of Austrian and European culture.   Most courses emphasize the special opportunities provided by the Salzburg setting through field experience, including visits to local sites, cultural, and professional institutions.  Courses are available in Understanding Austria: History, Politics and Culture, Economics and Politics of the EU, Cultural Business and Marketing, Austrian Literature and Culture, & German Language Studies at Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.  Students will take two of these courses.

Students will be expected to complete courses offered by Salzburg College, including those where they shall be immersed and gain knowledge of Austrian culture, the European Union, cultural business and marketing practices, local musical traditions, and formalized study. Students may also enroll in independent study in other communication-related topics if desired as well as the opportunities for internships.   Field studies are incorporated into coursework and midterm and final exams judge the proficiency of students during the semester.
