The Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM) exchange program with the University of Surrey, in Guildford, U.K. offers an opportunity to learn key skills, concepts and techniques needed for a successful career in Hospitality. The hospitality program at the University of Surrey has an excellent reputation for teaching and research in the sectors of hospitality, tourism and retail management, as well as the functional areas of entrepreneurship, marketing, technology management, and human resource management. The University of Surrey was founded in 1894. It was known as Battersea Polytechnic Institute and located in London. It was moved to Guildford and renamed the University of Surrey in 1966. The structure of the academic programs at the University of Surrey promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. The programs are divided into four Faculties: Arts and Human Sciences, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences and Management and Law, which houses the School of Management. It is currently the academic home of approximately 12,000 students.
Guildford is the county town of Surrey, England, the seat for Guildford Borough, and the administrative headquarters of the South East England region. The town is located about some 50 km (31 miles) southwest of London. Guildford is about 40 minutes by train to the south west of London, and at accessible to both Heathrow and Gatwick international airports.

- Must be in good standing (academic, conduct and financial) with UCF
- Must be registered full time while participating in the exchange
- Must be a junior or senior at the time of exchange
- Must have at least one semester left to graduate, upon returning from your semester abroad

You can apply online for this program. The application includes the submittal of a brief essay (500 words) that clearly describes your academic and personal goals, as well as how this program would further them. We recommend you work on your essay outside the application environment and then paste it on the appropriate field.
In addition, the application process also requires that you submit the following items to Joshua Johnson, RCH 201C:
- Academic reference from instructor familiar with you (which may be from a supervisor if appropriate) and who can explain why you are a good candidate for this program.
Selected participants must meet with the Program Coordinator to discuss and register for the appropriate coursework. Course work completed through the program may count as 12 semester hours of restricted elective or general elective course work.
All applications will be reviewed by the Rosen College International Committee and selected applicants will be notified of how to follow up. Assessment of the applications will be based on the academic qualifications of the applicant, as well as fit with the courses that the applicant has taken.
