The UCF College of Sciences student exchange at Leuphana University of Lüneburg is designed to expose UCF students to professional and academic practices outside of the US. In addition, participants in this exchange are expected to develop skills to adapt to a different academic and geographical environment.
Leuphana University was founded in 1946. Their current enrollment is about 7,000 students, 6% of these students are international students. Leuphana University of Lüneburg prides themselves on being a modern university. Through four science initiatives: Sustainability research, cultural research, education, management and entrepreneurship and through its course work and research, Leuphana University of Lüneburg addresses the challenges of civil society in the 21st century.
Lüneburg is a close-knit university campus and a wide array of entertainment and cultural events ranging from art exhibitions and international rock festivals to poetry readings provide a stimulating atmosphere. Lüneburg and its surroundings: Hamburg, Heide, the North Sea and the Baltic. Lüneburg lies in northern Germany about 50 km southeast from Hamburg in the State of Lower Saxony. The Lüneburger Heide, a favorite vacation region, lies close by, as do the North Sea and the Baltic. Hannover, the capitol of Lower Saxony, is an hour away and it takes just 2-3 hours to reach Berlin.

- Must be in good standing (academic, conduct and financial) with UCF
- Must be registered full time while participating in the exchange
- Must be a junior or senior at the time of exchange
- Successfully completed POS 3703, Scope and Methods of Political Science
- Must have at least one semester left to graduate, upon returning from your semester abroad

You can apply online for this program. The application includes the submittal of a brief essay (500 words) that clearly describes your academic and personal goals, as well as how this program would further them. We recommend you work on your essay outside the application environment and then paste it on the appropriate field.
Selected participants must meet with their Academic Advisor to discuss and register for the appropriate coursework. Coursework completed through the program may count as equivalent UCF course credit and/or as restricted or general elective credit.
All applications will be reviewed by the UCF College of Sciences and selected applicants will be notified of how to follow up. Assessment of the applications will be based on the academic qualifications of the applicant, as well as fit with the courses that the applicant has taken.
