Program Description:
The UCF College of Business Administration has partnered with Sant’Anna Institute in Italy to provide UCF business students with opportunities to study abroad and intern in Sorrento, Italy. Sant’Anna Institute is located overlooking the Marina Grande of Sorrento, perched on the cliffside, with stunning views from the sea-facing windows, and it’s a short walk to the harbor and the harbor-side restaurants. The Institute organizes study abroad programs in partnership with SUNY Alfred (New York State) which is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The Institute is located a short 15 minute walk from the center of town and 20 minutes from the Sorrento Station.

This unique program is designed for business students who would like to earn their International Business minor while gaining exposure to an international business environment in a manageable and accessible setting.

Program Structure and Assessment:

Students select 3 or 4 courses in business, for a total of 9-12 credits. The last course is an internship course worth 3 credits, organized by the university. The purpose of the internship is to provide students with a unique learning opportunity related to business and give them an opportunity to apply the knowledge learned in academic courses to a workplace setting, while obtaining valuable global career skills.

Semester students can earn up 12-15 credits and fulfill the study abroad requirements for the International Business Minor. Students will also have an opportunity to take an Italian Language and Culture classes.

Summer students can study at Sant’Anna Institute for Summer A or Summer B, or both. A variety of business courses are offered, in addition to Italian language classes.

All courses must be pre-approved by the the College of Business. You should meet with Holly Bouma, the Associate Director of International Programs at the College of Business, to discuss course options and UCF credit: holly.bouma@ucf.edu


Accommodation:

Sant'Anna Institute students have the option of staying in a shared apartment or with a host family. All housing options are within a 30-minute walk of the school or a short or a short ride on public transport.

Minimum Requirements:
  • UCF GPA: 3.0
  • Must be a pre-business or business major
  • Business Common Program Prerequisites complete
  • Must be in good standing (academic, conduct and financial) with UCF
  • Must have at least one semester left to graduate, upon returning from your semester abroad
